About This Blog

Just another guy out there with perspectives on the financial market, economics, venture capital, entrepreneurship, technology start-ups, business strategy and anything else that’s sort of related – all of the stuff that makes the world go ’round.

And a little more about me…

I’m the Chief Operating Officer with Altos Research, a premier resource for real-time real estate market analytics based in Silicon Valley. Our clients include trading desks with the big boys on Wall Street, hedge funds, homebuilders, equity funds – anyone with exposure to the real estate market. In the Silicon Valley start-up world, I worked with Aplia from 2001-2003, a software company purchased by Thomson Education (now Cengage Learning) in 2005. From 2003-2007, I ran my own economic & financial consulting firm, focusing my efforts on bridging western investment capital and business opportunities in Central Asia.

I’m also a quasi-academic, serving as a part-time faculty member on occasion at the University of San Francisco, California State University-East Bay and Saint Leo University teaching Economics, Finance, Entrepreneurship and Strategic Management.

I just ran across your website and love your belief in the free market, as this truely is what made America great. We are loosing it fast with the Obama administration, and I fear for all small businesses. We must unite and take back our country!

  2. Hi Scott,

Was trying to find your business email to personally contact you, to no avail. Well, on the way to looking for you, I found this personal blog, nice.

Been a reader of your Altos blog posts for a while now, and was wondering if I can get you for an interview for our blog (I send questions through email.)

One of the big inspirations for my blog is Altos borderline fanaticism on facts =)

Please send me an email if you oblige.

    Thank-you.

    Kind Regards,

    -Joe
